How to Identify a Locker Key Code Guide

A first-time key code identification guide — get it right to avoid non-returnable orders.

Need to find your locker key code? This quick guide walks you through exactly where to look, how to read the code (even when manufacturers only show a few digits), and what to do if the number’s missing or locked down for security. Grab the key or lock cylinder, follow the step-by-step checks below, and you’ll either find the code or know the best next move — no faff.

Does the lock have a number on the face?

Use the guide below to help you identify your lock key code. If you are still unsure, pop us an email with a photo of the replacement key required.

Yes

Next, search for your key number.

Type the full code — including all letters and numbers — into the Locker Parts Direct search box.

Make sure you enter it exactly as shown, with no spaces or dashes. Don't shorten the code — for example, CC0123 must not be entered as CC123.

The system will then check a database containing hundreds of thousands of key numbers used on lockers and office furniture.

No

This is often done for extra security to stop unauthorised key copying. Check with your office or facilities manager to see if the code has been recorded somewhere else — if not, it may be best to replace the lock.
