How to Nest Together Your Lockers Guide
Position the Lockers
Place the first locker in position on a level surface — this will act as your starting point. Align it where the final run will sit, whether against a wall or free-standing. Then place the next locker directly beside it, ensuring both bases and tops are flush. If your floor is uneven, use packers or shims under the base until both units sit level. It’s much easier to fix everything straight before bolting together.
Check Door Alignment
Before nesting, open and close the doors on both units. Check that they swing freely without clashing or rubbing. Misalignment now means trouble later — so get this right before tightening anything.
Locate the Nesting Holes
Open the locker doors fully. On the inside of each side panel, you’ll find pre-drilled holes (typically near the top and bottom of the frame). These are your nesting points. Align the holes on both lockers so that bolts can pass cleanly through. If your lockers don’t have pre-drilled holes, you may need to carefully drill matching holes through both side panels using a 6mm or 8mm drill bit — depending on bolt size.
Insert and Tighten Bolts
Push the bolts through the aligned holes, starting from the front frame area and moving towards the rear. Add washers on both sides and secure with nuts. Tighten each bolt gradually using a socket or spanner, alternating between top and bottom to maintain even pressure. Avoid over-tightening — this can cause the frames to twist or doors to misalign.
Check Final Alignment
Once the lockers are fully connected, step back and check the entire run visually. Make sure all doors open freely, the top and bottom lines are level, the gaps between the frames are consistent, and the bank sits firmly on the floor or stand. Adjust bolts slightly if anything looks uneven.
